Still, others love the easy access to the many beautiful and quaint small towns scattered around the region. It's a fairly safe bet, however, that few people move to the area because of the great commute to New York metro area. That's despite that fact that as a recent WFMZ-TV post estimates, between 30 to 40 percent of Monroe County residents make that commute regularly—a commute that averages almost 39 minutes.
