There are a lot of reasons people move to the Poconos. Some come for the slower pace of life. Some love the views and all of the outdoor activities. Still, others love the easy access to the many beautiful and quaint small towns scattered around the region. It's a fairly safe bet, however, that few people move to the area because of the great commute to New York metro area. That's despite that fact that as a recent WFMZ-TV post estimates, between 30 to 40 percent of Monroe County residents make that commute regularly—a commute that averages almost 39 minutes.
