Poconos Floor Plans: Walking Through a House That Hasn’t Been Built Yet

Choosing the right lot is huge. So is selecting the right builder for the job. But picking the right floor plan for your new home is a right up there as well. But how do you go about choosing the right plan?

It may help to think of the floor plan as a way to walk through a home before it’s even built. Why is that important? While it’s important how your house looks—both inside and outside—the thing that really makes it feel like home is how it feels to move around inside the house. A floor plan gives you at least a two-dimensional feel for what it would be like to live in a home you’re thinking about building.

Let’s look at a couple of floor plans as examples.

Arden-1The Arden

is a great 3-bedroom “now-and-later” home (Click here for a closer look). There is plenty of room for kids or guests with two bedrooms on the second level—and there’s even a bonus room that can be a media room, entertainment room, or a spacious home office. It’s a great plan for homeowners who want kids or guests to have their own private space. The first floor layout (with the Master bedroom suite on the main level) provides everything for comfortable single-level living. The kitchen/breakfast area opens conveniently into the Great Room. There’s also a separate dining room on the same level for more formal occasions. The laundry is on the same level—just off the garage. There are even two outdoor places to relax—a porch at the front of the house and a deck off the back.

Cartwright-1The Cartwright

(click here for a closer look) is another beautiful 3-bedroom home that also offers plenty of space and visual impact (thanks to vaulted ceilings) with everything on one level. The Master bedroom suite is located at the rear of the home with the laundry/utility room conveniently located nearby. The kitchen and breakfast areas open up to the Great Room with its cathedral ceiling. The spacious formal dining room is at the front of the house for entertaining. There are also two additional bedrooms plus a full bathroom for children or guests. The front porch provides a comfortable place to relax—or you and your guests can enjoy the spacious rear deck. With the increasing popularity of single level homes, we have also added the Baldwin, McCormick, Sagewood, Aurora and several other similar plans.

You can do a mental walk-through of either plan to see which one better fits your lifestyle. If you don’t see exactly what you want in these two plans—don’t worry. We have 15 additional plans from which to choose. Take a look until you find one that matches your lifestyle—and budget!
