What Adds Character to Your New Poconos Home?

What-adds-character-to-your-new-Poconos-home_.jpgSometimes you hear someone talk about a house having character. But what does that really mean? And how can you add character to your home?

Your home is a lot more than basic shelter. It’s more than simply a place to eat your meals and sleep at night.  It’s where you entertain and interact with others, and create memories. It should be a reflection of your lifestyle, your personality, and your character.

That’s why choosing a floor plan for your new custom home is such an important step. The design of your home is about a lot more than how many rooms you have or how many square feet are under your roof. The design and layout of your home needs to make it easier and more comfortable to live the kind of life you enjoy. What adds character to your home? You do!

So what does that mean when choosing a floor plan? It comes down to asking some simple questions about some pretty basic things.

Your Family:

How large is your family? How much space do you really need in order to live comfortably? How many bedrooms will be adequate? Do you want bedrooms on a single level? If your children are smaller, should their rooms be away from noise and activity at night? Do you need a large kitchen to accommodate meal prep and eating? What about family entertainment? Does your family enjoy watching movies or playing games together? Will you need a separate room that you can devote to that purpose? Or is it just the two of you—wanting to keep things simple and cozy?

Your Lifestyle:

How would you describe your entertaining style? Do you entertain often? Do you tend to have larger groups of people that would require more space in the kitchen and family room? Are your events casual or a bit more formal? Do you enjoy sit-down dinners that might require a separate dining room? Do you like to entertain outdoors when the weather is nice? Will a small deck or patio suffice, or will you want plenty of space for guests to enjoy your Poconos views? And speaking of views, do you want to opt for larger windows that let in more light and give you great views from inside your home?

The good news is that regardless of your family’s size and needs, we have a variety of floor plans that will meet your needs.  And what’s even better is that any of these plans can be adjusted and adapted to better reflect your family’s lifestyle and character. Whether it involves changing the room size, moving window placement, increasing the ceiling height, adding additional space, or changing the location of your garage door—we’ll work with you to create a custom home that fits you like a glove—and lets your character shine through!
