Location-matters-why-where-you-build-in-the-Poconos-maeks-a-differenceWhen people talk about heading to the Poconos they’re talking about a pretty good-sized area. This section of northeast Pennsylvania covers more than 2,400 miles and crosses four separate counties (Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties). Just because you’ve seen one part of the Poconos doesn’t mean you’ve seen it all.

And if you’re considering building a home here, location really matters. Of course location is more than a matter of geography. Most of the people who move to the Poconos are looking for something they can’t find elsewhere. Sure, they’re removed from the hustle and bustle of city life—but they still want to pursue an active life. And that means being near great things to do and see. But they still want a sense of community.

We’d like to introduce you to six areas that we think incorporate the best that the Poconos has to offer.

Lake Naomi

is a premiere Pennsylvania Recreational Community. At the heart of this Resort Community is a 277-acre lake that offers boating, fishing, swimming and sailing, along with two outdoor heated pools (and one is the largest heated outdoor pool in Pennsylvania! You’ll also find a 9-hole private executive golf course, and the #1 rated tennis complex in Pennsylvania. And if you want to take things indoors, they’ve recently added a 48,000 square foot Community Center that includes an indoor pool, indoor tennis, fitness center and activities for the entire family.

Thornhurst Country Club Estates

is quiet, picturesque community situated within the Lackawanna State Forest that features a lovely 9-hole golf course, clubhouse and swimming pool. The community is about 30 minutes from the Jack Frost Ski Resort and less than 30 minutes to shopping and restaurants in Wilkes Barre. Plus there is plenty of hiking, biking, swimming, and hunting right outside the community.

Towamensing Trails

is a private residential community populated with both permanent and part-time residents. The community hosts approximately 700 full-time residents and many part-time residents, as well as part-time and full-time renters and offers 24-hour security and full time maintenance and administrative staff.

Arrowhead Lakes Estates

is a private, gated lake community in the tiny and charming hamlet of Pocono Lake, PA. In addition to its two large lakes and four beaches, the community also offers three heated swimming pools, seven tennis courts, five boat launches, and more.

Eagle Rock Resort

is one of those communities that truly has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or a great work retreat, you’ll find it in this community situated in 6,800 acres of pristine countryside. Residents and guests can enjoy award-winning golf, spa and fitness facilities, snow skiing, snow tubing, swimming pools, stocked fishing lakes, an equestrian center, tennis, and hiking trails. And when it’s time to unwind, they can savor both upscale and casual dining

Locust Lake Village

is a four-season community that features five lakes (three with swimming beaches lifeguards throughout the summer). The lakes are stocked with fish and non-motorized boating is permitted—preserving the tranquility of the community. This beautiful location is ideal for outdoor family activities and is just 15 minutes from the Jack Frost and Big Boulder ski areas and only 25 minutes from Camelback ski area and Camelbeach Waterpark.

Of course great communities like these demand great custom homes. We’re pleased to build in all six of these great Poconos communities.
