Sounds like one thing, right? But location is much more than a street address, and when it comes to building a new home there are actually three aspects of location that you need to consider.
What’s important to you about the physical location of your home? For some people, having a spectacular view is an absolute essential. And if that’s the case, it will probably have a significant impact on the design of your home. You’ll want to pick a plan that capitalizes on those views. Do you want to enjoy those vistas from your bedroom or your family room? How will that impact the layout? Maybe you’ll want to build something with a deck so that you can enjoy the scenery outside as well.
Your home may be a retreat and a place to enjoy being away from it all—but chances are you won’t spend all of your time at home. How easy is it to get out to other things you enjoy? What about access to things you need? Will you still need to get to work? What about visitors? Will they be able to get to you easily—or will it be too inconvenient? On the other hand, if solitude is what you really want, will your location provide that?
Sometimes your location—the lot where you build your home—can have a big impact on rather practical things such as access to utilities (water, electricity, sewer, phone/Internet access). A really remote location can be nice, but there are times when it can cost you a bundle to access the amenities you’ve become accustomed to for daily living.
Apparently those real estate people were onto something when they kept talking about the importance of location. So make sure you’ve got access to everything you want and need before you get too far down the road in planning your Poconos home. We can build on your land, help you find that perfect Pocono Northeast home spot, or build in one of our 6 preferred communities.
