Home is Where the Heart is—and in Your Poconos Home, That’s the Kitchen!

Home-is-where-the-heart-is-and-in-your-Poconos-home-thats-the-kitchenYou’ve heard it time and again: The kitchen is the heart of the home. Increasingly, new homes are built with the kitchen taking a prominent place in the design of the home, because that’s where the action is. Whether it’s entertaining guests, doing homework, paying bills, preparing meals, or eating—everyone seems to gravitate toward the kitchen.

That’s a major reason that today’s kitchens tend to be larger, more open, lighter, and more welcoming. But there was a time when the kitchen was set off by itself and hidden from guests. It was a “working” room and homeowners didn’t want to expose guests to dirty dishes and kitchen clutter.

If you live in an older Poconos home, your kitchen may not be designed to accommodate the way families live today. If you find yourself frustrated by the way your kitchen is laid out—or if you feel like you’re cut off from guests preparing meals while everyone else is engaged in activities, maybe it’s time to think about remodeling.

A good builder/remodeler can take a look at the space you have available and can often come up with a plan that will totally transform the way your kitchen looks—and functions—even if it requires moving a wall (something you don’t want to try on your own without making sure you’re not dealing with a load-bearing wall!).

Take a look at a few samples of what your old kitchen can be. Then contact me to set up a conversation about some current kitchen design trends; to find out what other homeowners in the area are doing with their kitchens; and to get a budget range for the kind of project you have in mind, to see if it’s feasible. There’s no obligation!

Keep in mind that remodeling your kitchen also gives you a great return on your investment. When it’s time to sell, a kitchen remodeling project is one place you’ll get more of your invested money back than almost any other home-improvement you can make.

Home is where the heart is, and your kitchen is the heart of your Poconos home!
